Healthy Outcomes Through Genomic Innovations (Healthy Outcomes) is a combined program from Genome BC and Genome Alberta focused on implementation research designed to accelerate the development and adoption of genomics infrastructure and genomics-enabled technologies to improve healthcare within the health systems of British Columbia and Alberta.
Through this program, Genome BC and Genome Alberta aim to:
• De-risk and stimulate adoption of genomics-based testing and technologies into routine care
• Facilitate access to patient genomics data within a learning health system for research purposes and to inform clinical decision-making
• Facilitate equal access to genomics-based testing across rural and urban settings
• Foster genomics-based solutions that enhance health outcomes (by improving patient stratification, prognoses, diagnoses, and/or treatment strategies) and/or improve efficiencies of the healthcare system
