Using tree cookies from infected timber and aerial photographs, students see how the mountain pine beetle is laying waste to 55% of BC forests. Through a combination of hands-on activities and resources, students learn how climate change facilitated the outbreak and how genetics research is combining with other strategies to manage the beetle’s spread.
