“We are rapidly moving into the era of genomics-based healthcare and precision medicine.  It is an incredibly exciting time to be part of the ‘omics sector and to help it develop and unfold.”

As Genome BC’s Vice President of Corporate Development, Wes Peterson works alongside other members of the management team to implement cross-functional programs and initiatives while nurturing and expanding strategic partnerships that propel Genome BC’s mission forward.

Wes joins us most recently from the BC Beverage Technology Access Centre, where he served as General Manager for the last five years. He helped launch and lead the Centre to support applied research, development, and innovation for the Canadian beverage sector as part of its joint mandate between Okanagan College, the Ministry of Post Secondary Education and Future Skills and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) in Ottawa.

Prior to this, Wes was a travel and tourism executive with Expedia Group, managing various segments of their commercial portfolio across Canada, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He brings over two decades of experience in finance, contracting, research and consulting across multiple economic sectors.
