Sahr believes genomics is a transformative force for building climate-resilient food systems and accelerating innovation across the agrifood sector to address global challenges. Her expertise lies in plant genetics, with a focus on genome size and chromosome evolution, and she is passionate about translating scientific discoveries into real-world solutions.
Before joining Genome BC, Sahr worked at the Royal Botanic Gardens in London, England, contributing to international research initiatives through large-scale sequencing projects, including the Darwin Tree of Life and Earth Biogenome Project.
Sahr’s focus at Genome BC is to work with researchers, industry, and government to foster collaboration that advances omics technologies to drive sustainable agriculture and strengthen food security.
