entrepreneurship@UBC (e@UBC)’s Lab2Launch supports the next generation of science-based entrepreneurs in developing viable, transformative ventures built around UBC research innovation. The design of the program enables UBC researchers to step out of their technical comfort zone and, with the guidance of our venture-centric programming anchored by deep mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs, enables them to investigate, validate and deploy a multi-faceted startup business that will launch their innovations as commercially viable products and services.

For the 2022 – 2023 year, e@UBC has achieved the following:

  1. Raised 8% capital in e@UBC startups
  2. 46% increase in applications: For the Lab2Launch program, there were 31 applicants and accepted 24 teams
  3. 55% year-over-year investor engagement across e@UBC events
