Sally Greenwood brings over 25 years of experience in the non-profit, health care and social services sectors to her role as Vice President, Communications and Societal Engagement at Genome BC. An expert in strategic communications and issues management, Sally leads the organization in achieving the highest visibility and credibility possible through a broad array of engagement activities.

Sally is committed to moving scientific research to tangible outcome and ensuring that investments made result in better outcomes for people. Sally mentors scientists and industry leaders on ways to make the important work they do accessible and engaging through her belief that the most impactful stories are shared through the lens of the person at the heart of the story.

Sally also works with experts to explore and understand the broader societal and policy implications of the incredible advancements made possible through genomics. She is passionate about engaging today’s youth and that the pursuit of a strong STEAM ecosystem (Science Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) will drive a vibrant society and economy.

After pursuing a graduate degree in Journalism and some time in that field, Sally applied her passions for communications and people to the health care sector where she held senior positions with BC Transplant, the BC Centre for Disease Control and Community Living BC. An expert in crisis and strategic communications, she has supported Genome BC in the areas of Education, Communications and Societal Engagement since 2009.
