This project aimed at developing and testing therapies to combat Infectious Salmon Anemia Virus (ISAV) disease in salmon. ISAV has devastated the health of Atlantic salmon and affected the salmon fishing industries of eastern Canada, the United States, Scotland and Norway.

There is presently no vaccine or therapy for ISAV and the hope was that this project would offer some pharmacological agents to combat the disease. The group made over 20 compounds, but was not able to isolate active purified haemagglutinin-esterase protein required for testing.
