This project generated unique tools to facilitate site-specific integration of DNA of interest into the genome as a means to develop gene therapy strategies which are superior to current methodologies.  While the tool development was successful, the technology requires further refinements which have been taken on by the project’s commercial partner, Life Technologies. This project built on progress made by the Pleiades Promoter Project (Genome Canada Competition III) using its MiniPromoters, collaborative relationships, equipment, protocols, and highly trained personnel.
