The gel size selection method for next generation sequencing (NGS) has remained a largely manual process and thus highly expensive. The aim of this project was to help Coastal Genomics become an established company in the life sciences sector through the commercialization of the Ranger – a fully automated solution for gel size selection.

The company continues to develop the platform and accompanying software to integrate with alternative platforms on the market. Due to the project Coastal Genomics hired additional personnel as they received more orders for the Ranger.
