One thing is certain—our team of education volunteers is very passionate about genomics education and aim to ensure that students learn in creative and challenging ways. This work is ongoing but here are a few highlights from the past few months:
In December 2016, our Geneskool education team hosted two weeks of full day workshops in the Capilano University labs, working with a total of 360 students from 19 different schools between grades 9 and 12.
Geneskool travelled north to Prince George in January. Our education team held workshops for 125 Prince George high school students. We also hosted hands-on activities at the Community Science Celebration held at The Exploration Place. Families learned how to construct DNA bracelets and extract DNA from kiwi fruit.
Hey teachers, make Geneskool part of your classroom. All workshops and resources are free. Learn how you can make Geneskool part of your classroom.
