Christine Dean Strategy Advisor & Consultant
Formerly VP Global Timberlands Technology, Weyerhaeuser Company

Dr. Christine Dean is a senior advisor to a range of national and international boards including corporate, non-profit, government and intergovernmental agencies, and research institutions where her skills and experience can help contribute to impact. Christine has a sense of mission to build successful organizations in pursuit of meaningful change fueled by inclusiveness, diversity, creativity and a drive to further innovation to achieve the goals of the organizations she is working with. She is passionate about the need for economic growth, environmental sustainability and societal advancement to all occur together which aligns well with her role as a member of the Genome BC Board of Directors. Christine also holds an adjunct faculty member position at University of British Columbia.

Prior to this role as an advisor, Christine served as Vice President, and Officer, of Weyerhaeuser Company, a multinational forest products company. She is an accomplished senior executive and internationally recognized scientist, with global experience leading the development of science and technology platforms and putting them to work to achieve sustainable strategic and operational business goals in highly technical, complex and regulated forestry and natural resource business operations around the world. Before joining Weyerhaeuser, Christine worked as a scientist with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) in Australia, and as a consultant.

Christine holds a Ph.D. in quantitative genetics from the University of Queensland; and a Bachelor of Science from the Flinders University of South Australia
