Genome BC is proud to support* BC and Yukon students showcasing their research and hard work through innovative projects! These students continue to lead the charge at national and international science fair competitions. This year 70 students from 13 Regional Science Fairs continued to the Canada-Wide Science Fair, held in Fredericton, New Brunswick where Team BC and Yukon received $194,550 in awards and scholarships including 6 gold medals, 14 silver medals, and 21 bronze medals!
National and international Science Fair competitions are a once in a lifetime experience that provide students the opportunity to present their projects, share discoveries and interests with their fellow science students. Please take a moment to read the 2019 Program Report, highlighting the activities of the Science Fair Foundation of BC, Science Fairs, and the amazing participating students from across the province this past year.
*Genome BC proudly supports the Science Fair Foundation of BC through the Genome BC Scholarship and Genome BC Award through the Provincial Awards program. As well, we are a silver sponsor of the STEMCELL Science Fair Fun Run, a family oriented event to raise funds for the Dr. Michael Smith Science Fair Endowment in support of Science Fair programs throughout BC and the Yukon.
