In this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, Genome British Columbia has taken appropriate steps to ensure that our team members remain safe and healthy. We are working remotely, as recommended by all levels of government, and making our best efforts to remain as effective and fully operational as possible. To that end we are making plans for, and re-scheduling, face-to-face meetings to take place virtually via Zoom and other means as necessary. All business travel is on hold for now.
We do understand that some funded projects may need to adjust milestones and deadlines, and may require special funding arrangements. Our Sector Managers are reaching out to all project teams to understand their status and work with them to mitigate any challenges. We are working with the research community and health services agencies to identify projects with the potential of having a quick and material impact on the evolving COVID-19 challenges and stand ready to develop and fund projects accordingly.
Our Geneskool team continues to offer online educational resources and will work with educators to support online learning.
In this trying time we are doing our utmost to support our own team, and those that we work with on an ongoing basis. Please reach out directly if you have any concerns and take good care of yourselves, your families, friends and neighbours.
Regards,
Pascal Spothelfer
President and CEO
