Genome BC welcomes your comments and encourages you to contribute to the discussion. Please be civil and respectful to others, leave out profanity and keep your comments constructive and on topic. Harassing or attacking other people who comment will not be tolerated.
We value your participation in lively and constructive dialogue, but that doesn’t give you or anyone else the right to make comments that are defamatory, unlawful, malicious, threatening, profane, sexually explicit or that advocate violence.
Your comments may be deleted without notice if guidelines aren’t observed. Comments that are off topic or appear to be spam or advertising will also be deleted.
Do I have to log in through Facebook to make a comment?
Yes. Genome BC only accepts comment from participants who identify themselves and we use the Facebook comments plug-in as an easy and efficient way to moderate the comments we receive.
How are comments moderated?
Most comments are moderated after they have been posted. This means that Genome BC may remove comments that are already published on the website. If a comment disappears, it’s likely because it violated our commenting guidelines.
What if I see a comment that violates the commenting guidelines?
Click on the drop-down menu (located in the upper right hand corner of the comment) and choose to hide it. You won’t see that comment any longer and it will appear in a queue for Genome BC moderators to review. You may also choose to report violators to Facebook.
Genome BC reserves the right to edit or delete any comments without notice. This comment policy is subject to change at any time. If you have any questions on this commenting policy, please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
