Julia joined Genome BC in May, 2007 bringing extensive communications and events management experience from both the public and private sectors. Prior to Genome BC, she was the Marketing and Events Manager for the Office of Community Affairs at The University of British Columbia.

Julia is a current Professional member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) BC Chapter. She is a former director of communications and board member of the Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST).
