T: 604 637 3086
Dr. Ellie Griffith joined Genome BC as a Research Program Manager in February 2008, where she hopes to contribute from her breadth of life science research experience. Prior to moving to Vancouver, Ellie was working at the Medical Research Council Human Genetics Unit in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her work involved trying to understand rare inherited disorders affecting brain size.
Ellie completed her BSc and Masters degrees at the University of Manchester, and then moved to Glasgow where she obtained her PhD from the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research in cell biology and genetics. She then worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Glasgow studying the function of plant siRNA in mammalian systems, before moving to Edinburgh.
Her choice to move to Vancouver was influenced by the ranking of Vancouver as the number one city in the world for “liveability”.
Ellie is currently on maternity leave.
