Ashleen Shadeo
Research Program Manager
T: 604 675 1025
Ashleen joined Genome BC as a Research Program Manager in September 2011 with aims of applying her experience in life sciences to facilitating the application of novel research findings for the benefit of society.
Prior to Genome BC, she assumed a variety of roles during her nearly ten years at the BC Cancer Research Centre (Terry Fox Laboratories and Department of Integrative Oncology). Ashleen’s interest in women’s health, lead to collaborations with both academics and clinicians that provided the foundation for her work in the genetic evaluation of precancerous lesions of the cervix and breast. Through the use of various high throughput techniques, she investigated genomic copy number and global gene expression aberrations in order to uncover components of key biological gene networks that are perturbed during these pivotal early stages of disease development.
Ashleen received her PhD in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine from the University of British Columbia in May 2010.
