Dr. Aniko Takacs-Cox joined Genome BC in September 2011 as a Research Program Manager. Aniko has over 15 years of managerial experience in the Medical Device, Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries.
Prior to Genome BC, Aniko worked at Response Biomedical Corporation as a Project Manager supporting the development, manufacturing and marketing of rapid diagnostic devices for clinical and environmental applications. As Director of Product Development at MSI Methylation Sciences, Inc. in Burnaby BC, she held various responsibilities in repositioning a natural product as an antidepressant. Prior to MSI, she developed nano-particle formulations for the delivery of synergistic anticancer drug combinations at Celator Pharmaceutical Corporation. At Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Aniko lead an R&D team to develop novel drug eluting medical devices and surgical interventions.
Aniko has also worked at Mirus Corporation in Madison, Wisconsin (later Roche Madison) developing polymer based non-viral DNA transfection vectors. Aniko holds a Masters Degree in Organic Chemistry from Budapest, a PhD in Polymer Science from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell and an Executive MBA from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.
