Peter O’Callaghan practises in the securities and commercial areas in the Vancouver office. Peter’s practice includes all types of merger and acquisition and corporate finance transactions including public and private equity financings, take-over and issuer bids, independent counsel to investment dealers and boards of directors, and all regulatory and stock exchange compliance work. He also has extensive experience in share and asset acquisitions and divestitures, shareholders’ and joint venture agreements.

Peter’s clients are primarily in the mining and life sciences sectors, and he has extensive knowledge of these industries and the contractual arrangements and key participants in each of them. He has acted for issuers and underwriters in respect of many mining transactions throughout the world and took a year off from private practice to act as the senior vice-president of corporate development and general counsel to one of Canada’s leading publicly traded biotechnology companies.

Peter is a member of the Firm’s national Securities Group and the Canadian Bar Association’s Securities Law and Business Law Subsections.

He is a member of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and the International Mining Professionals Society. He is also a member of the board of governors of Science World British Columbia. Peter is recognized in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as one of the leading lawyers in Canada.
