Genome BC invests in genome sciences research projects and technology platforms focused on areas of strategic importance to the Province of BC such as human health, forestry, fisheries, agriculture, bioenergy, mining, and the environment. By working collaboratively with government, universities, and industry, Genome BC is the catalyst for a vibrant life sciences cluster with far reaching social and economic benefits for BC and Canada.  To date, the organization has research programs with approved budgets of over $430 million, including 87 primarily large and medium scale research projects and science and technology innovation centres.
