Technology Platforms
Major developments in DNA technology have made it possible to rapidly process, analyze and compare literally billions of genomic data points, including entire genomes, sets of expressed proteins, gene families from different species, and genetic variations. Without these ‘technology platforms’, large-scale genomics research would simply not be feasible.
Part of a continuum of technical strengths to facilitate discovery, Genome BC’s Science and Technology Platforms provide a backbone of genomics-based services for researchers undertaking investigations of biological systems through the applications of genomics science. The advanced capabilities provided by the four platforms – Genomics, Microarrays, Proteomics, and Technology Development – provide the tools and expertise to analyze genomes in various ways and include services such as DNA sequencing, mapping, genotyping, microarrays, genetic analysis, proteomics and bioinformatics.
- Genomics
One of the highest capacity gene mapping groups worldwide - Technology Development
An engineering resource team to develop new tools, devices and technology for forward-looking research - Proteomics
Analyzes protein functions for biomarker discovery and validation, metabolomics, and protein imaging - Microarrays
Fast and economical methods to analyze the expression of tens of thousands of genes at once
