Genome BC Events
Surviving the 3rd Millennium
March 11, 2013, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
We’ve all heard about it - climate change, dwindling water supplies, droughts on the prairies, floods on the coasts, energy shortages, growing populations, genetic clones... the future can look scary sometimes! But have you heard about how we can use science and new technologies, including genomics, to deal with these issues?
Award winning radio host and author Bob McDonald says Canada is in a position to lead the way.
Join Bob, host of CBC Radio’s Quirks and Quarks, for a fun and enlightening talk. He has been explaining science in a knowledgeable and entertaining way for over 30 years and brings a unique perspective to the issues that affect our daily lives. In addition to his talk, Bob will showcase interactive demonstrations with the audience and take your questions. This event is free of charge and not to be missed!
UPDATE March 8th - This event is sold out and registration is closed. Those who pre-registered in advance have to arrive and claim their seat before 5:15pm. Any unclaimed seats will be given to walk ups on a first come, first serve basis.
