Genome BC Project Leader

Dr. William Davidson is a Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Simon Fraser University. He obtained his BSc from Edinburgh University in 1974 and his PhD in 1978 From Queen’s University.

Dr. Davidson works primarily in the field of molecular evolution, which involves the study of the genomic organization and the changes that occur during evolution. He believes in a broad-based approach to evolutionary studies and finds collaborative research to be stimulating, leading to a wide variety of projects. Current research in the Davidson Lab revolves around fish in the family Salmonidae, particularly Atlantic salmon and Arctic charr.
