Genome British Columbia is looking to fill the following positions:

Sector Manager – Natural Resources 

(2 positions available)

Reporting to the Sector Director, the Sector Manager is the main point of contact at Genome BC for funded project teams and is responsible for monitoring projects to assess progress and maximize outcomes. The Sector Manager is responsible for engaging with key external partners and stakeholders in the sectors that are relevant to BC’s bioeconomy, including forestry, agri-food, mining, energy, environment, fisheries and aquaculture to achieve the deliverables and objectives as set out the Genome BC strategic plan.

Sector Director- Human Health

The Sector Director, Human Health (the Director) will work closely with the Chief Science Officer to develop the short and longer-term strategies for the sector and will execute activities that comprise the development of external initiatives and partnerships as well as oversight of an internal portfolio of Human Health and technology projects.

The Director will supervise a group of managers that are in charge of optimizing the outcomes of Genome British Columbia’s (Genome BC) research portfolio and developing collaborations and strategic partnerships leading to the adoption of genomics in the sector. In general, the Director, will represent Genome BC at external meetings focusing on the health sector and will work with their team to oversee Genome BC’s existing portfolio and attract potential applicants for Genome BC programs.
